Carl Sagan - 'A Glorious Dawn' ft Stephen Hawking (Cosmos Remixed)

"If you wish to make an apple pie from scratch, you first must invent the Universe." - Carl Sagan

Just discovered this very cool musician/video artist who has taken a Carl Sagan Documentary, and played it like it was it's own instrument. The artist is John Boswell, who has created some amazing ambient/ electronica music. My favorite genre combined with my favorite scientific subject was almost to much for my little latina heart to take. Mind expansions very much *should* happen while dancing!

The artist John Boswell has this video and it's accompanying track available for download at his website, Colorpulse. He also has many other very tasty ambient/electronica tracks to listen to and download at that same site.

Blood Fighting: Dawn of the Robots and Zombies (january 2006)

This is one film that really incorporates many things I love about b-movies, adn it does it with flair, adn good music to boot>
From Internet Archive: "Winning entry in the 5-6 age category of the Ital Kwanza Film Festival 2006. This film explores the western fascination with monsters and zombies as exemplified in its literature and cinema. Utilizing clips from, doctor who, transformers, godzilla, night of the living dead and the vibrant open source community, this film integrates culturally appropriate music to provide us with entertaining cinema respite."

Human Fly, re-imagined by BASE02

Several months ago when Lux Interior of 'The Cramps' passed away, i happened upon this video while preparing a blog post titled "Lux Interior: A Cramp that will never leave me." honoring and highlighting the career of one of my most favorite preformers.

I've not seen too much animation like this, but I love the raw style and edginess of it. I certainly hope that BASE02 decides to grant us more of his animation imagination in the future.

Kutiman - Thru You - I'm new

One of the most amazing uses of online video resources that I have ever see. Kutiman used clips from hundreds of videos on youtube to create an all new song and music video. Essentially, this sort of video mash-up composing has made a whole new genre of music, music video, and really shown the power of using the internet to share information and ides, nopt to mention that 12 second video of you sucking at playing the piano from last year. Who knew such musical power could be found through so many diverse sources. None of us can do this all alone, but together, we can do anything.

The Last Man on Earth

Based on the chilling Richard Matheson science fiction Classic "I am Legend" and later remade as "The Omega Man" starring Charlton Heston. This classic features Vincent Price as scientist Robert Morgan in a post apocalyptic nightmare world. The world has been consumed by a ravenous plague that has transformed humanity into a race of bloodthirsty vampires. Only Morgan proves immune, and becomes the solitary vampire slayer.

Malice in the Palace

The Show with Ze Frank: Fingers in Food 08-30-06

Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within

This animated movie os one of my absolute favorites for many reasons. First of all, it's subject matter really struck a chord with me, in that the story line is futuristic science fiction, yet spirituality is weaved throughout the story. The animation is amazing, the voice acting is memorable, and some of the voice actors are some of my favorite live-action actors as well. Ving Rhames, Alec Baldwin, Donald Sutherland, James Woods and especially Steve Buscemi's presences all lend a feeling of crediality to this films exisctance.

From Wikipedia: "

Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within is a computer animated science fiction film by Hironobu Sakaguchi, the creator of the Final Fantasy series of role-playing games. It was released on July 11, 2001, in the United States by Columbia Pictures.[2]

Although bearing the title Final Fantasy, the film shares few aspects with the original Final Fantasy video games, establishing itself as a stand-alone film instead. The story follows scientists Aki Ross and Doctor Sid in their efforts to free Earth from a mysterious and deadly alien race known as the Phantoms, which has driven surviving humanity into "barrier cities". They must compete against General Hein, who wishes to attack the aliens with the Zeus space cannon to end the conflict.

The film received mixed reviews and was a box office bomb. The film was the first attempt to make a photorealistic rendered 3D feature film."
